- Director Tyler Tibbs
Tyler has spent much of the last ten years in Central America. The last five six years he has resided in Nicaragua. The idea for The Parque Maderas Hotel, Beach Community and the Center for Art and Ecology was born while Tyler was living as an art student in Mexico, but has always been rooted in his upbringing. He grew up on a tree farm in the coastal mountains of Oregon where his mother and father, Tom and Julie shared with him the values of organic farming, craftmanship and sustainable living. Tyler is inspired by his twin sister Abby and brother Ashley, whoose drive and values have helped to mold him into what he is today. After gradulating highschool Tyler moved to Mexico where he studied ceramics at the Instituto Allende. Tyler then went to the University of New Hampshire where he graduated with a degree in Environmental and Resource Economics. While there he continued his study of ceramics and played on the Division I soccer team. Following he worked for various NGO's and found himself back in Oregon, working as an elemnetry school Spanish teacher. But it was always the coast of Central America that called him.- Jeremy Killan
